This is a lecture from http://www.ted.com which is a site that should become a favorite for everyone. This particular lecture is about what Pranav Mistry calls sixth sense technology, a more advanced state of what we have with smart phones, but without actually having to carry around a smart phone. The interesting part that ties in with our class is the fact that most of his work sprung from what he could do with the sensory parts of a mouse, kind of like how the mouse was created out of the need for a more user friendly way to use the memex. I am going to attach both the wordpress link and the ted.com link just in case. It is exciting to think how artists will use this kind of technology because of how it breaks down the barriers between the natural world and the digital world.
